7 Must‑Stream Movies This Week Across Netflix, Prime Video and More

Mid‑October is turning into a sweet spot for film lovers who prefer streaming over the cinema. A major English‑language tech outlet has rounded up “seven top new movies to stream this week,” spanning comedy, suspense and sci‑fi across Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and Apple TV+. One of the headline picks is an apocalyptic comedy starring Chris Evans and Anya Taylor‑Joy, billed as a stylish, darkly funny take on the end of the world that will land on Netflix in the coming days, depending on your region.

The list also flags a new stunt‑driven action film on Apple TV+, a crime‑focused original on Prime Video and a buzzy title on HBO Max, many of which are making the jump from theatrical release to home viewing for the first time. For Japanese audiences, not every film will arrive on every local service, and dates can shift country by country. Even so, these weekly international round‑ups are a handy way to see which platforms are getting the biggest “event” titles, and to build a weekend movie playlist before you start browsing aimlessly through rows of thumbnails.
