3 New Netflix Horror Thrillers to Get You in the Halloween Mood This Weekend

With Halloween season ramping up, Tom’s Guide has pulled together a trio of recently added Netflix horror thrillers it says are perfect for a weekend scare‑fest. The first pick is a brutal home‑invasion movie that traps both intruders and residents inside a suburban house, unfolding almost in real time as the power dynamic keeps shifting room by room.

The second recommendation is a crime thriller about investigators hunting a notorious serial killer, loosely inspired by real‑world cases and leaning hard into procedural detail and dread rather than jump scares. Rounding out the list is a supernatural mystery that blends ghost‑story chills with detective‑drama structure, following an investigator drawn into a case that may not have a rational explanation. Rather than just naming titles, the article explains what kind of “fear profile” each film offers — from gore‑heavy shock to slow‑burn psychological unease — so viewers can match their pick to their tolerance level. For Japanese horror fans scrolling through Netflix’s endless horror row, this kind of tightly focused, three‑title guide can be a handy shortcut to the most seasonally appropriate new arrivals.
