7 Streaming Picks for This Weekend: New Series Dominate Across Netflix and Prime Video

A UK‑based tech and entertainment site published its October 2 roundup of “seven new movies and TV shows to watch at home this weekend,” pulling from Netflix, Prime Video and other major streamers. The focus this time is firmly on series: the list is anchored by a much‑anticipated literary adaptation and the final season of a fan‑favorite fantasy drama, both designed to encourage full‑season binges rather than casual dipping. A couple of new films make the cut, but the editorial angle is that this weekend belongs to long‑form storytelling. For each pick, the article gives a clear sense of genre, approximate time commitment and ideal viewing mood – for instance, which titles to avoid if you dislike horror, or what to queue up when you just want something lighter. Availability and platforms can differ in Japan, yet the piece still works as a quick snapshot of what English‑language critics currently see as the most “buzz‑ready” VOD debuts for the weekend.
