5 must‑watch new arrivals on Netflix in October 2026, picked by overseas critics

A UK‑based tech and entertainment outlet has singled out five “can’t‑miss” all‑new titles landing on Netflix in October 2026, arguing that the streamer is far from taking a breather this month. The picks span sci‑fi, crime drama, dark fantasy and more, but the editors say their main criterion was long‑term franchise potential rather than one‑off premieres. One of the highlighted shows is described as a long‑awaited continuation that fans have effectively been waiting close to a decade to see, making it a clear nostalgia‑play aimed at lapsed viewers who loved the original.

The piece notes that Netflix is leaning heavily on series this October—scripted dramas, documentaries, animation and international co‑productions—rather than loading the calendar with stand‑alone films. For global subscribers, that means a steady drip of weekly episode drops rather than a single “dump” weekend. The article also cautions that titles and dates can vary by region, and some of the recommended picks do not yet have official local titles or confirmed roll‑out plans in markets like Japan. Viewers interested in these buzzy October arrivals are advised to keep an eye on Netflix’s “Coming Soon” and reminder features to see exactly when each show will unlock in their country.
