13 new phone apps worth a look this month, according to iTechGuides

Tech outlet iTechGuides has published a curated roundup of “new and newly available” apps for October 2026, picking 13 titles it thinks are worth installing on iPhone or Android. The list mixes true newcomers with major relaunches, big feature overhauls, and apps that recently arrived on a new mobile platform.

The selections span party‑game apps for groups, travel planners, task and list managers, note‑taking tools, cloud storage clients, and even utilities that let you send faxes directly from your phone. According to the editors, they focused on apps that launched or substantially relaunched since summer 2026 and verified store listings in late September, so the article reads more like a hand‑picked guide than a raw “new releases” feed.

One standout for productivity fans is Notability’s Android release. Long popular on iPad for its combination of handwriting, typed notes, and audio recording, Notability opened its Android beta in April 2026 and has now reached a stable release, making it a realistic cross‑platform option for students and professionals who don’t live entirely in Apple’s ecosystem. That shift could make high‑end note‑taking workflows—lecture capture, meeting notes, exam prep—more accessible to Android users, including those in markets like Japan where Android has a strong foothold.
