Persona’s Wearable AI Assistant: The Teen Founder Putting an Agent on Your Wrist
Teen founder Zach Yadegari, best known for calorie-tracking app Cal AI, is back in the spotlight with his new startup Persona. According to multiple startup trackers, Persona closed a $10 million round led by Vine Ventures, announced on October 10, 2026, positioning the company as a SaaS player building a “wearable AI assistant.”
Persona combines a $179 wristband-style wearable with a text-based AI agent that lives inside messaging apps. Users can text the assistant in iMessage to book travel, order food or rides, sort email, and even handle payments, rather than juggling separate apps. The product is often framed as a rival to phone-free assistants like Instinct or Meta’s Muse, but with a heavier focus on everyday errands and personal workflows.
A key selling point is privacy. Instead of an always-listening microphone, Persona emphasizes explicit user actions: most interactions happen via typed or tapped requests, with the cloud-based agent executing tasks only after clear permission. Reports describe the approach as an attempt to reduce “ambient surveillance” while still giving users powerful automation. For now, Persona is rolling out in a limited US beta, yet it’s already being talked about as part of a broader shift toward AI that lives on your body rather than on your home screen.
