goFLUENT adds AI avatars so language learners can role‑play with virtual tutors

Corporate language‑learning provider goFLUENT announced a new AI Avatars feature on October 8, designed to make speaking practice feel more like talking to a real person. Within the company’s AI Conversation 2.0 experience, learners can now interact by voice with on‑screen characters that listen, respond, and guide role‑play scenarios in real time.

Each avatar is tailored to a situation—for example, a business meeting, a sales call, or an airport check‑in—with matching clothing and background visuals. After a session, the system analyzes what the learner said and returns granular feedback on task completion, vocabulary, grammar, and phrasing. Because the partner is an AI avatar rather than a human tutor, learners can repeat the same scenario as many times as they like without social pressure.

AI Avatar activities are currently available through the “Practice Speaking” channel on desktop, mobile web, and the goFLUENT app, in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese, with more languages planned. For companies investing in employee upskilling, the feature offers a scalable way to provide realistic speaking practice that goes beyond traditional drills and one‑way video lessons.
