Meta’s ‘Muse Charm’ puts your personal AI in the palm of your hand

Meta used its Meta Connect 2026 developer conference to unveil “Muse Charm,” a dedicated hardware companion for its Muse AI assistant. The device is a palm‑sized fob designed to live on your keychain or bag, giving you instant, voice‑only access to Muse even when you’re not wearing Meta’s smart glasses or using your phone.

According to early reports, Muse Charm includes a microphone, speaker and simple hardware controls so you can summon Muse with a press, then ask it to manage your schedule, draft messages, answer questions or just chat. By deliberately leaving out a camera, Meta is positioning Charm as a lower‑friction, more privacy‑friendly way to keep an AI assistant “always on” and within reach throughout the day.

The company also announced lighter VR goggles and audio‑only smart glasses at the same event, signaling a broader push to move AI experiences beyond traditional screens and into wearable or pocketable devices. Internally, Meta is said to have pulled forward the Charm launch from 2027 to late 2026, underscoring how strategic standalone AI gadgets have become in the race to define computing after the smartphone era.
