Meta launches Muse, a personal AI agent that actually does stuff for you

Meta has started rolling out Muse, a new personal AI agent in the US that’s designed to go far beyond chatting. Instead of just answering questions, Muse can open a browser, fill out web forms, send emails, book flights, make purchases and keep working on a task even after you close the app. You can talk to it in a dedicated Muse app or inside WhatsApp and Meta’s other messaging services.

Meta is positioning Muse as a kind of digital chief of staff for ordinary users. The service launches with a free tier that includes up to 100 million tokens per week, plus paid Power and Maximum plans at around $20 and $100 per month for heavier workloads. The company is keen to highlight safety and privacy, since the agent may handle logins and payment details when acting on your behalf. With Google, OpenAI and several startups racing to ship similar “do‑things‑for‑you” agents, Muse is one of the first large‑scale tests of whether people are ready to let an AI take real actions across their online life rather than just give advice.
