Pealo turns your calendar into alarms that actually ring on time

Pealo is a new iPhone app built around one very specific promise: if it’s in your calendar, it will ring like a real alarm. Created by solo developer Greg Mroz in Warsaw and released on the App Store in August 2026, the app has started to attract attention overseas as Apple’s latest OS changes quietly make this idea possible.

The problem Pealo tackles is familiar to anyone who works remotely: calendar alerts are just notifications. They respect Silent Mode, Do Not Disturb, and Focus profiles, which means that a reminder for a 9 a.m. meeting can arrive completely silently. The usual workaround—adding a second manual alarm in the Clock app—breaks as soon as the meeting gets rescheduled.

Pealo uses a new framework in iOS 26 called AlarmKit, which exposes the same underlying system used by Apple’s own Clock app. By tapping into AlarmKit, Pealo can turn events from your calendar into true alarms that ring even when your phone is otherwise quiet, and automatically track time changes when meetings move. The app is sold as a paid download, with the developer emphasizing that it runs locally without server‑side data collection.
