Blend’s new LO Chat turns loan officers’ workflows into an AI conversation
U.S. fintech company Blend is adding a new AI assistant called “LO Chat” to its Blend Autopilot platform, which powers mortgage and consumer‑lending workflows for banks and lenders. “LO” stands for loan officer: instead of clicking through multiple dashboards, a loan officer can type natural‑language requests like “show me what’s blocking this file” or “what should I do next for this borrower?” and have the system surface relevant data, documents and recommended actions directly in a chat interface.
Blend describes LO Chat—soon to enter beta—as a key step in its Autopilot roadmap, which focuses on making AI agents more dependable, giving lenders tighter control, and opening the door to new AI‑driven workflows. Because it’s wired into the existing Blend environment where institutions already run credit checks, collect documents and manage approvals, the assistant can go beyond generic Q&A and actually move deals forward. It’s positioned less as a generic chatbot and more as a workflow‑aware colleague that understands lending rules and customer context, aiming to reduce routine clicks and free human staff to handle exceptions and relationship‑building.
