Dearly turns your voice into a smart ADHD‑friendly journal
A new Android journaling app called Dearly is gaining attention in ADHD communities for tackling a very specific pain point: typing is often too slow and effortful to keep up a daily log.
Dearly is built around voice, not the keyboard. You open the app, tap record and talk for about 60 seconds about your day or whatever is stressing you out. The app automatically transcribes your speech into a clean journal entry and uses AI to structure it. It highlights recurring people, places and topics, and surfaces patterns such as “situations that keep stressing you out” or themes that show up week after week.
The solo developer, who has ADHD, says traditional paper journals and text-based apps always broke down at the “friction to start” stage. Dearly is designed so that speaking is the only required action. On top of that, an AI prompt system suggests follow‑up questions so users aren’t stuck staring at a blank page.
Right now the app is Android‑only and being iterated quickly based on real‑world feedback. Early adopters are using it as a bedtime brain dump, a lightweight therapy companion, and a way to bring more concrete notes and patterns into conversations with clinicians, rather than relying on vague memories of how the week went.
