A US-based startup has quietly rolled out a new Slack companion app called “Homeboard,” and it’s getting attention from developer communities and productivity blogs overseas. The idea is simple but powerful: turn Slack into your personal home screen by pulling scattered information into a single, customizable dashboard.

Homeboard surfaces @mentions, saved messages, pending approval requests, and even notifications from external tools as cards you can rearrange via drag-and-drop. It also integrates with common SaaS tools like Trello and GitHub, letting you update task status or issue state without leaving Slack.

Slack’s App Directory is already crowded with bots and integrations, but Homeboard focuses on giving users one consolidated interface for both reading and acting on what matters that day. In interviews, the team says they optimized for “showing only a handful of truly important items instead of an endless stream of alerts.” For Japanese remote teams and startups that live in Slack all day, Homeboard could become a useful layer to tame notification overload and keep daily work on track.
