ThreadMind Turns Slack Chatter into a To‑Do List with an AI Bot

A new Slack companion app called ThreadMind is gaining traction among startups by tackling a universal pain point: tasks that get agreed on in chat but never make it into a tracker.

Installed as an official Slack app, ThreadMind lets an AI model continuously watch channel conversations. When someone writes messages like “I’ll handle this” or “Let’s fix it next week,” the bot infers a task, guesses fields such as owner, due date and priority, and adds it to a shared task board. Users can confirm or edit suggestions with a single click to avoid misclassification.

The service also monitors threads to see whether tasks appear to be completed or whether decisions were made without anyone explicitly taking ownership, and it surfaces those as follow‑ups. Integrations with tools like Jira and Asana help teams keep their existing project management workflow. While the interface is English‑only for now, the underlying models work across languages, so Japanese‑language Slack workspaces can still benefit from automatic capture of “lost” to‑dos.
