Bitcoin Holds Near $64K as Spot ETF Inflows Offset Market Jitters
Bitcoin has remained relatively resilient around the mid‑$64,000 range as of August 19, despite choppy risk sentiment in global markets. Data from Indian exchange Giottus highlight that subdued volatility is being helped by steady demand from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs—funds that hold physical BTC and trade on stock exchanges, giving both institutions and retail investors easy access through regular brokerage accounts.
Fresh flow numbers from August 18 point to roughly $189 million in net inflows to U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs and about $71 million into spot Ethereum products. By contrast, ETFs tied to major altcoins such as Solana and XRP saw no notable flows, suggesting that investor appetite is still clustered around the two largest crypto assets by market value. Market strategists argue that a clean break above the $65,000–$66,000 resistance band will likely require another leg higher in ETF allocations alongside stronger spot trading activity. Until then, Bitcoin may continue to trade in a relatively tight range, acting more as a “core holding” in crypto portfolios than as a source of aggressive short‑term speculation.
