AI Startups Raise $30.8 Billion in October as Mega-Rounds Pile Up
Investor capital is pouring back into AI startups, with October shaping up as one of the most aggressive funding months yet. According to a specialist tracker, companies whose core business is artificial intelligence closed at least 614 disclosed rounds so far in October 2026, raising a combined $30.8 billion. The largest deal was a staggering $7 billion round for Decart, which focuses on large-scale inference infrastructure, followed by $2 billion rounds for AI infrastructure players Axiom Solutions International and MiroMind.
Most of this capital is flowing into late-stage companies — Series C and beyond — that are racing to scale ahead of potential IPOs. While the United States and Europe still dominate, significant checks are also going to Israel, the Middle East, India and other regions, particularly for AI chips and agent-based software platforms. The tracker only counts firms where AI is the core product, which means the real volume of AI-related investment is likely even higher once traditional sectors using AI are included. The surge underscores how quickly resources are concentrating in a handful of well-funded players with access to vast compute, raising fresh questions about competition, openness and who will control the next generation of AI infrastructure.
